  • Not rich my ass! $75 is less than they pay every few months to feed those 3 dogs and a cat. They even said they didn't pay because they never thought it would happen to them. I'm tired of assuming people can't pay - what people can't do more often is practice self-restraint and live by a budget.

  • Not the same. They save your life, not your possessions. And by the way, I don't like paying for free healthcare either for those who should and could be paying for health insurance rather than other things. (And I'm a left-winger!)

  • If you don't like this 'pay for services' policy, work with fellow citizens to change it. But if you don't pay the fee as it stands, don't expect service. Trust me, with '3 dogs and a cat' they pay WAY over $75 a year in pet food, so the budget excuse is false.

  • What a tragic story, I was in tears. Ony to be shocked and disappointed to read the last part: mom's brother doesn't hope the child will grow up to cure cancer or save lives, but to be in pageants! Disappointing. God bless and keep you Dottie.
